Developing the Lion Mentality

Are you ready to "roar?" Developing the lion leadership mentality is centered around several things and accepting counsel from a mentor or sponsor is critical to your success as a leader. If you feel you don't need assistance, you are on a desert without water. That's called a dry place. There is always someone that can be a guiding light and willing to assist you.

In the last section we discussed delegation and to delegate also means you have a team you entrust with the vision. You are a leader of the leaders and it is important to empower them with the authority to carry out the vision.

As a lion leader your responsibility is to develop lion leaders based upon the strength of every leader. Remember in the introduction the phrase, "I would rather have a lion lead a herd of sheep, than a sheep leading a pride of lions," because a lion will lead with tenacity and an attitude that produces results which will transfer to the those that will follow him.

Once your team is assembled, walk them through the team development stages while developing the synergy that is required to be successful. You don't always select the team, sometimes the team is selected for you, but that is an opportunity for the lion leader.
